Crock Pot BBQ Ribs: An Easy Weeknight Meal

A perfect meal ready to enjoy after a long day at work.

Crock pot meals are great to have because they're quick and convenient. I often have trouble finding recipes aside from the traditional chili or pot roast, however this recipe for Crock Pot BBQ Ribs is as easy as it gets.

Simply combine your ingredients in a crock pot and cook it on low until your ribs are cooked through and tender. The ingredients are minimal, making this a perfect weeknight meal when you're on the go and need something ready for you when you walk in the door.

Not only is this dish easy to prepare, but it's also extremely convenient. It can be assembled in the morning before you head out to work or the night before and refrigerated to allow the ribs to marinate.

No matter what your reason is, this recipe is one to try as the crisp fall weather approaches. You and your family are sure to enjoy this comfort food dish time and time again.

Crock Pot BBQ Ribs

Family Recipe
Serves: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 6-8 hours

Ingredients

1 package of 8 thick cut ribs (I used Pork Loin Rib End Bone-In Ribs)
1 large onion, roughly chopped
salt and pepper
2 1/3 cup BBQ sauce (homemade or good quality bottled sauce of your choice)

Directions

Begin with roughly chopping your onion and set aside.  Season your ribs with salt and pepper. Then spread 1/3 cup of BBQ sauce over the bottom of your crock pot. Lay a single layer of ribs to cover the bottom of your crock pot. Sprinkle with half of your chopped onions and spread 1 cup of BBQ sauce, making sure to evenly coat the ribs.  Repeat these steps with a second layer. Then cover your crock pot and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours.
