Readers' Choice Winner: The Best Place for Mother's Day Brunch
There were three nominations this week, but after a slow start in the nomination phase Monday and voting phase on Thursday, it was Hawk's Landing Country Club that ran away with it.
Mother's Day is right around the corner - just eight days away guys, hint hint - and if you are looking for the right place to book your Mother's Day brunch, local residents suggest .
After asking residents this week to weigh in on their favorite spots for Mother's Day brunch, things got off to a slow start. Monday's nominations phase saw just a few recommendations before things really got moving in favor of Hawk's Landing.
By the time nominations closed Wednesday, Hawk's Landing was the last to be recommended but had far and way the most nominations, with 9 of the 11 comments supporting the restaurant in the northeast section of town.
Also nominated this week was Confetti's Restaurant in Plainville, an out of town option on Farmington Avenue, and on West Street.

The voting phase also got off to a slow start, with just three votes and Confetti's taking the lead after the first 10 hours, but the support for Hawk's Landing picked up once again and in the end, the Pattonwood Drive restaurant ran away with the show in taking 12 of the 15 votes.
Tom Bussett and Pat Maratea each said that provides a great dining option and beautiful view at a reasonable price.
"I brought my wife and mother to Hawks Landing Country Club last year and we're going back again," Bussett said. "GREAT brunch, they shuttled my mom and others by golf cart from parking lot to the restaurant, and they even have a free putting contest for Moms."
