"We, The People" volunteers will gather on the Town Green Saturday, Sept. 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the purpose of meeting citizens who may be interested in joining the local contingent of the growing organization.
Local members of "We, The People" say they are seeking to maintain the intregrity of the Constitution for people's sake.
Citizen groups across the state are currently forming and the Southington group is seeking to insert volunteer monitors at state and local govermental meetings to ensure that government adheres to its town chartters and the Constitution.
Supporters say "We, The People" is not affiliated with any political party and its goal is to establish community groups with 178,000 members across the state and beyond. The public invited to meet volunteers and learn about their goals.
