It's wing time again in Southington.
The is sponsoring its Sixth Annual "Wing Fest" competition on Nov. 16 at the on Jude Lane and the event is open to the public. The event will feature eight local restaurants, serving up specialty chicken wings for the top honors and bragging rights for the next year.
The top winners in the competition will be by patron ballot and a panel of six independent judges.
The fest, scheduled at 5:30 p.m., will include opportunities to try some of the town's fares but will also include a toy collection in the spirit of the holiday season. The Chamber Women are also collecting donated toys for its yearly drive to assist needy families in town during the holidays.
Admission to the fest is $10 with a donated toy, $12 without.
Music will be provided by the Dave and Dave Show. The major sponsor for the event is Webster Bank with contributing sponsorships by Sign Pro, The Herald and Mickey Blake's Cigars and Golf.
Participating restaurants include , , , , , , and The Groggy Frog. Patrons will receive at least two wings from each restaurant.
