Help End Hunger Walk on April 27 to Benefit Bread for Life

The second annual Help End Hunger Walk will be held Sunday, April 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. Proceeds from the walk will benefit Bread for Life to help feed the hungry right here in Southington.

Walkers can choose either a 1-mile or 3-mile walk on the Rails to Trails linear trail, which is both stroller and wheelchair accessible. Participants can register for the walk on the day of the event starting at 1 p.m. in the back parking lot of the Southington Community YMCA, 29 High St.

Registration can also be made on the Bread for Life website http://www.southingtonbreadforlife.com. There is a fee of $20 per person and $35 per family. T-shirts will be given to the first 200 registrants. The walk will begin at 2 p.m.

After the walk, activities for the whole family will be held at the YMCA including Valentine the Clown, music, refreshments, games with coach Justin Hubeny of the YMCA, and Double Dutch and other jump rope lessons with Pamela Patterson.

The event will be held rain or shine and is a dog-free event. This fundraiser will help Bread for Life to continue its mission "that no one may go hungry."

This event is being run in conjunction with Southington Parks and Recreation Department, Southington Community YMCA and Activate Southington. For more information, visit the Bread for Life website or call the office, 860-276-8389.
