New Facebook Group "Southington Soldiers" Offers Support to Town's Servicemen and Women

Last night I created a group to provide support to past and present Southington Serviceman and women.  A local man posted on "Southington Talks" that he was leaving for Basic training soon.  I wished him God's Blessings and a safe return home to us when his service was done.  I immediately thought of my cousin that served many tours beginning before Desert Storm until his death in 2011.  Bud's death was a suicide and he suffered from PTSD and depression after his many tours.

Our Military need our love and support so very much and I have always wanted Bud's death to have a purpose.  I took a minute and created the group as a place for Southington to show it's support and appreciation for our local soldiers of the present and the past.  It can be a place for soldiers to "come home to Southington" to hear what their friends and neighbors want them to know.  We can share stories/pictures, organize care package drives, find pen pals and just show our support as a Community to our brave men and women.

It is an "open group" so it can be viewed by anyone.  I ask that it remain respectful and supportive.  Negativity and arguments are not welcome in the group.  I invite all Servicemen and women, family and friends to join the group and let's show Southington's Military they are loved!
