Teen’s vision clothes impoverished children

Photo courtesy of First Baptist Church More than 65 dresses and approximately the same number of items of boys’ clothing decorate the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Southington during the May 19 worship service. Emily Lamy, of Thomaston, who is a member of the church, started the clothing ministry project last year with similar results. With the support of others, she coordinated the sewing project, which provided the T-shirts and material for the attached skirts. The First Baptist Church Grandparents’ Group and other volunteers made many of the dresses. The clothing will be distributed to needy children in the poor sugar cane villages in the Dominican Republic.
