The Orchards tag sale benefits Bread for Life

Residents of The Orchards of Southington gather following their presentation of a donation to Bread for Life. The contribution represented proceeds from a tag sale that they organized recently. The residents hold tag sales regularly to benefit Bread for Life, according to Michele Korby-Gale, recreation director. Participants included, front row, from left, Fran MacFarlane, Therese Lagasse and Phyllis Steel; back row, from left, Lucille Holtham, Mary Ronzo, Michele Korby-Gale, Anna Lynch, Jennie Kilmartin and the Rev. Dr. Walter Debboli. The Orchards staff and residents offer support to Bread for Life in other ways. Once each month the executive chef cooks a meal for the food program and residents also volunteer to serve lunch. “We are so appreciative of all the efforts by The Orchards to help Bread for Life ensure that no one may go hungry. Our community is so generous,” said Eldon Hafford, executive director of Bread for Life.
