Preacher: Fr. John Powers, C.P.Fr. John Powers, C.P. is a Passionist Pilgrim Preacher and spiritual storyteller. Ordained in 1977, he is the author of six books for adults and two for children as well as a four part series of one hour CD presentations entitled A Healing Way. He has served as a Director, Producer and Host of The Passionist Radio & TV Ministry in Springfield, Massachusetts, Director of Calvary Spiritual Center and Rector of Passionist Communities in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and Bronx, New York.

Fr. John C.P. now serves as a Pilgrim Preacher of Retreats, Parish Missions, Day, Evening and Overnight Programs. He has preached from Connecticut to Texas, Florida to Australia, New York to Tennessee, and Germany to Louisiana.

During our Lenten Mission, Fr. John Powers, C.P. will witness through very personal, scriptural and folk stories to the courage, compassion and hope necessary to carry our crosses along the rough road of Lenten loss, pain, illness, disappointment and suffering. Fr. John will witness to how we can do more than just survive through L E N T, but how we can thrive all the way to Living Easter’s New Truth.
Mission Schedule
Sat. April 2, – Sun. April 3, Fr. John C.P. will preach at all Masses.
Monday April 4th– Fr John will celebrate the 9:00 a.m. Mass followed at 9:30 by a 45 minute presentation entitled: “Hope is born amid the Hurt.”
Monday April 4th– at 7:30 p.m. Fr. John will repeat the 45 minute morning presentation entitled: “Hope is born amid the Hurt.”(Please note that this part of the presentation will be in the Learning Center)
Tuesday April 5th – Fr. John will celebrate the 9:00 a.m. Mass followed at 9:30 by a 45 minute presentation entitled: “Compassion is born amid the Anger.”
Tuesday April 5th – at 7:30 p.m. Fr. John will repeat the morning 45 minute presentation entitled: "Compassion is born amid the Anger.”
Wednesday April 6th- Fr. John will celebrate the 9:00 a.m. Mass followed at 9:30 by a 45 minute presentation entitled: “Love amid the Losses.”
Wednesday April 6th - at 7:30 p.m. Fr. John C.P. will repeat the morning 45 minute presentation entitled: “Love amid the Losses.”
