Scheduled Power Outage Coming to Brentwood Drive

Town officials said Friday that the power outage will affect several CL&P customers as part of a road widening project and residents will be informed by door knockers.

If someone should knock at your door in the Mount Vernon Road and Brentwood Drive area over the next couple days, don’t be alarmed. They are informing you of a scheduled power outage.

The Southington Police Department and Southington Town Manager Garry Brumback said Connecticut Light and Power is reporting outages that will take place on Tuesday, May 21, in the Brentwood Drive area as crews work to widen the road.

The outages are necessary as crews with the state Department of Transportation conduct work on a road widening project. The outages are expected to take place during the business day and power will be turned back on by evening, CL&P officials said.

“Door knockers are being utilized to inform the public of this outage,” police said.

A rain date of Wednesday, May 22, has been set if the work is unable to be completed due to weather on Tuesday.
