Southington Homebrewer Wins Medal at National Competition

Patrick Saucier took one of 33 winners of 7,756 entries from across the U.S.

A Southington man brought home a medal from the 2013 National Homebrew Competition recently.

Patrick Saucier’s entry was one of just 33 beers that made it to the finals of the competition, held in Philadelphia, PA, according to a Record Journal report. A total of 7,756 beers were entered from all over the United States.

Saucier, who took bronze in the European Amber Lager category, was the only homebrewer from Connecticut to win a medal.

The competition is the largest in the world and hosted by the American Homebrewers Association.
