Southington Town Schedules: Budget Set Monday and More

The 2013-14 annual budget process will reach its conclusion Monday as members of the Southington Town Council vote on a final budget for the upcoming year. But that is just the start of a busy week in town.

Monday, May 13

  • Library Board, 5:30 p.m., in the lower level of Southington Public Library, 255 Main St. in Southington.
  • Southington Town Council, 7 p.m., in the Public Assembly Room at the Southington Municipal Center, 200 N. Main St. in Southington.

Tuesday, May 14

  • Middle Schools Building Committee, 4:30 p.m., at DePaolo Middle School, 385 Pleasant St. in Southington.
  • Commission on Disabilities, 6:30 p.m., at the Southington Police Department Headquarters, 69 Lazy Lane in Southington.
  • Senior Citizens Commission, 6:30 p.m., at the Calendar House Senior Center, 388 Pleasant St. in Southington.
  • Zoning Board of Appeals, 7 p.m., in the Public Assembly Room at the Southington Municipal Center, 200 N. Main St. in Southington.

OTHER MAJOR EVENTS
Touch-A-Truck
Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Derynoski Elementary School, 240 Main St. in Southington.
The American Legion Auxiliary and the Southington Parks & Recreation Department are proud to co-sponsor the 11th Annual "Touch-a-Truck" event! The event will take place in the rear parking lot of Derynoski School - entrance on Eden Ave., Southington. Rain date is Sunday, May 19th. Children will enjoy climbing on/into construction, military, rescue and other vehicles, face painting, music and much more. Refreshments and raffles will also be available and the Conservation Commission will be handing out free seedlings.
