A Festival of Lights…and Tastes…and Sounds

After rain delayed the start of the 44th Annual Apple Harvest Festival in Southington Friday evening, crowds took to the streets on Saturday as thousands turned out for the first day of festivities.

Friday night was a wash for Southington’s annual Apple Harvest Festival. Saturday? Well that was a "booming" success.

The opening day of the Apple Harvest festival proved to be a successful one, bringing thousands to the downtown area to enjoy carnival rides, take part in crafting, shop the booths and enjoy a fireworks display that left those within miles stopping to stare up at the night sky.

“Last night wasn’t what we wanted to see, but it’s been a pretty good start to everything today,” said Charlie Cocuzza, Southington Chamber of Commerce board member and representative of the Connecticut Icon booth.
