Fr. Henry C. Frascadore to Speak at St. Dominic Church on Nov. 10th

Here's an invitation welcoming all!

"Mystery is a gift wrapped in ordinary paper"  . . .

So reads the sub-title on the cover of a new book of inspirational poetry entitled "Beyond the Willow Tree" by Reverend Henry C. Frascadore, former pastor of St. Dominic Church whose writing style combines the experiences of his life's journey with eloquent simplicity.

Fr. Frascadore will be November's guest speaker of St. Dominic's "Parish of the Future Educational Planning Committee" on Thursday evening, November 10, 2011 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at St. Dominic Church.

There is no charge for admission and all are welcome.

Fr. Henry C. Frascadore will offer an evening of reflection on his inspiring newly published book “Beyond the Weeping Willow Tree.”  Fr. Henry’s love of poetry has been inspired, in part, by the thought that most of the English language has a cadence, a rhythm, one that is captured best in the words and heart of a poem. He uses this medium to explore the simple poetic insights found in the Gospels and Psalms, applied in daily-life encounters with people, animals, nature and prayer.  Frascadore will share the insights, inspiration and enjoyment that this most recent, exciting phase of life has brought to him.

From the foreword of the book:

“Father Frascadore’s delightful book reminds us of the oneness with nature we felt as children.  He shares the wisdom to be gained at Hector’s Market, at grandpa’s knee, and at the end of Ramsey’s leash.  Most rewarding, I think, are his poetic insights into the mind of Christ.  There is poetry in the New Testament, but nothing like the lushness of 150 psalms.  Perhaps God is inviting us to compose our own psalters.  Father Frascadore has accepted the invitation and shown us what can be done.”  - Reverend Henry P. Cody

Copies of “Beyond the Weeping Willow Tree will be available for purchase at the event.  All net proceeds will go to St. Francis Congestive Heart Failure Fund in Hartford.
