Art Happy Hour With Dorothy Keller
Where/When: New Britain Museum of American Art, 56 Lexington St. in New Britain – (860) 229-0257, Thursday, Feb. 10 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Why Go: This cultural event provides an opportunity for local residents to not only experience American art through a variety of mediums, but allows for an informal discussion of works by women artists led by Dorothy Keller, professor of fine arts at St. Joseph College.
Price: Free with the price of admission. Admission is $10 for adults and $9 for seniors. Student admission is $8 and children under 12 are free if you can’t find a babysitter.
Where/When: The Palace Theater, 100 E. Main St. in Waterbury – (203) 346-2000, Saturday, Feb. 12 with the concert scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Pianist and composer Jim Brickman brings his musical talents to the Palace Theater, providing a variety of musical selections for local residents to sit back, relax and enjoy.
Price: $35, $45 or $65 per person, depending on section.
Where/When: Golf Quest, 125 Jude Lane in Southington – (860) 628-6688, Saturday, Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go: For golf fans, this is an opportunity not only for a day out but a chance to improve your golf game. Instructors will demonstrate proper techniques and discuss how different putters impact your stroke as you look to turn that bogey into a birdie.
Price: Free.
Piano Concert at New Britain Museum of American Art
Where/When: New Britain Museum of American Art, 56 Lexington St. in New Britain – (860) 229-0257, Sunday, Feb. 13.
Why Go: This cultural and musical event will allow local residents a chance to hear a classical piano recital featuring Charles Ives’ second Piano Sonata “Concord, Mass., 1840-1860.”

Dinner at the Hearthstone Pub
Where/When: Hearthstone Pub, 42 W. Main St. in Plantsville - (860) 628-0877, dinner served daily from 4 to 9:30 p.m., bar open until 2 p.m.
Why Go: Sometimes a couple’s night out is all local residents are looking for and with almost every table overlooking a fireplace within the dining room, the atmosphere provides a great opportunity for local residents to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
Price: Varies based on meal with most entrees starting around $10.
