"Harvest Tea Party" Encourages Social Networking at Barnes Museum
Face to face exchange mixed with a spot of tea is perfect for conversation starters.
The did what it does best and played host during its Summer Harvest Tea Party Thursday afternoon.
In addition to many Southington residents in attendance, the event drew people in from Kensington, Vernon, East Lyme, Cheshire, Plantsville and as far away as Monterey, California.
The museum has a quaint and homey quality to it as each room is filled with the Barnes family's belongings as though they lived there still. Add that charm to a delicious luncheon menu and it's hard to resist.
Three tables were filled to capacity. Conversation flowed easily between stranger and friends over summer gardening, favorite menus and weather woes of the last few months.
It was evident that face-to-face networking is still a viable outlet for many.
