And The Best Chicken Wings in Southington Are...

The winners have been announced for top wings in town and there's a mix of former winners and new names. Take a look to see who took top billing in 2013.

After winning "best wings" in 2011, The Groggy Frogg proudly hung their banner in their Center Street pub.

Now the former winner is the reigning champ once again - this time taking two awards including one for hottest wings and a second for best overall. The two awards marked two of the three categories available in the 2013 Wingfest hosted by the women of the Southington Chamber of Commerce.

"It's a fun event and these restaurants take the Wingfest seriously," Chamber President Art Secondo said during the event Wednesday. "They certainly have a friendly competition for bragging rights."

The recognition is not one that The Groggy Frogg owner Mike Montana takes lightly either. A homegrown Southington resident, he prides himself in surprising patrons with delicious food and proving the Center Street location is more than just a bar.

Also scoring recognition this week is the new J. Lynn's Harvest Pub. Located where the former Spice Bar and Grill used to be, the pub took top honors for most original with their "Christmas in Paradise" wings, a wing flavored with pineapple and mango.

The following winners were announced Thursday:

Hottest Wings
First Place: The Groggy Frogg
Runner Up: TD Homers

Most Original
First Place: J. Lynn's Harvest Pub
Runner Up: Buffalo Wild Wings

Best Overall
First Place: The Groggy Frogg
