Average Price at Connecticut Gas Pumps Drops to $3.87

GasBuddy.com reports that prices have fallen 1.9 cents since last week across the state and remain at a low of $3.74 in Southington.

And the prices keep on diving! According to GasBuddy.com, the average price of regular gasoline in Connecticut fell to $3.87 per gallon this week, a drop of 1.9 cents since last week.

"Average gasoline prices have continued to quietly move lower in the last week across much of the United States at a time of year when we historically are accustomed to seeing prices move higher," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.

"As of late last week, all fifty states saw lower gasoline prices than the same date last year, and the savings at the pump for motorists- while not staggering- amounts to millions of dollars a day," DeHaan said.

In Southington, the lowest prices are currently found at the Cumberland Farms on Queen Street. Prices fell four cents to $3.74 for a gallon of regular gas at the station, according to the most recent data.

The Food Bag on Meriden Avenue is reporting their prices at $3.78 per gallon for regular and the A+ Mini Mart on West Street is offering gas at $3.80 per gallon.

The national price of gas dropped 2.5 cents this week to an average of $3.64 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.

Here are some more gasoline stats from GasBuddy:

Connecticut prices: 16.2 cents lower than one year ago, 9.1 cents lower compared to a month ago.

National prices: 21.9 cents cheaper than last year, 9.5 cents lower than one month ag.
