Building A Riverfront Property on South Main Street

At the southern end of South Main Street, near Apple Valley Bowl, there's a property that can be built to suit. What to build, what to build?

OK so I admit, maybe calling it a riverfront property is a bit of a stretch, but there is land available in a high traffic area along South Main Street. So how should it be filled?

Let's call this a modern spin on community planning - Patch's version of a charette, a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.

Each week we'll present a new vacant building and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the other zoning jargon that puts people most to sleep. If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

Located at the southern most end of South Main Street and across from Apple Valley Bowl, there is a property available where the possibilities are limitless. The area gets considerable traffic as it lies on Route 10 not far from the Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike and could be a great space for a variety of businesses.

But let's get creative, shall we?

Anything is possible. Anything. So do you develop of entertainment venue of sorts, a new store - or something entirely different?

Tell Us: What's the best use of the property along the Quinnipiac River on South Main Street?

Tell Us: What's the best way to move forward with the Main Street business space?
