Chamber Wing Fest Returns to the Cadillac Ranch

The popular competition to name the town's "best wings" will return on Wednesday, Nov. 14 with 10 restaurants vying for the title.

The annual Wing Fest competition sponsored by the Southington Chamber of Commerce returns next week with nearly a dozen restaurants going head-to-head for the title of "best wings in Southington."

The contest will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Cadillac Ranch on Jude Lane from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event features local restaurants serving their best chicken wings to patrons who are being asked to donate unwrapped toys to benefit local needy children during the holidays. 

The Chamber Womens group is hosting the Wingfest that averages more than 250 patrons each year.

Each participating restaurant will provide two sample wings to each patron and jusdging for the best in several categories will be determined by public ballot and a panel of six independent judges. Music will be provided and anyone donating an unwrapped toy will receive a discount from the admission price.

Participating restaurants include Randy's Wooster Street Pizza, The Groggy Frog, Chili's, Machiavelli's, Wicked Stick Tavern, Zingarella's, Giovanni's Pizza, TD Homer's, Napoli Deli, Spice Bar & Grill, Bacci's Restaurant and Hawk's Landing.

Judges include Mike Schroeder, publisher of The Herald newspapers, Jeff Krug, Manager of Target in Meriden, Rob Miejewski of Ragozzino Deli, Charlotte Godblatt of Rideview Estates, Steve Menard of Steve's Restaurant and Sheldon Dill of the Cheshire Chamber of Commerce.

There is a $15 admission without a toy donation and $12 with a toy.
