Lights Out: Southington Homes, Businesses to Lose Power

Upgrades to the CL&P system will leave several hundred customers without power over the next few days. Find out where and for how long.

Several hundred residential and commercial properties are scheduled to lose power on Wednesday and Thursday as Connecticut Light and Power conducts scheduled maintenance on it's system in Southington.

The company announced that it will be conducting a system conversion in areas along Meriden Avenue, Scenic Drive, Beechwood Drive, Woodland Drive and Savage Street on Tuesday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Areas including Faya Lane, Mountain Grove, Blue Hills Weiss Way and Silver Oak will be affected as the conversion continues on Thursday.

The outages are expected to last approximately four hours each day and work should be completed by mid-day Thursday according to the company. Rain and weather could also affect the dates and times of outages, the company said.

“Please be advised we have a planned commercial/residential outage/conversion affecting approximately 160 customers in Southington in the Meriden Avenue, Scenic Drive, Beechwood Drive, Woodland Drive and Savage Street area for Wednesday, April 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

On Thursday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. we will have the 2nd half of the conversion affecting approximately 100 customers in the Meriden Ave, Savage, Faya Lane, Mountain Grove, Blue Hills, Weiss Way and Silver Oak area.

The outage dialer has been utilized for the notification of this outage. The rain/weather date will be determined if needed. We are bringing in additional crews and expect the duration to be shorter than the actual time frame being given. The dialer will call out this morning.
