Readers' Choice Winner: Where People Go When Someone Else Is Buying

There were four nominations this week and a tight race that ran down to the wire, but in the end Noble Japanese Restaurant came out on top.

Residents in Southington have always been passionate about their sports, but with many of the sports seasons already underway, it seems the idea of where to buy sporting goods is already behind them.

The vote this week an interesting race, coming down to the wire with three of the four nominees finding themselves in the lead at different points during the voting phase before a big push in the final hour finally put at 235 Queen St. over the top.

In fact, tied at nine votes with the when the poll was scheduled to close at 9 a.m., it took an hour of overtime to decide the winner.

The New Mill Restaurant took an early lead, but and Noble Japanese Steakhouse fought back, each found their way into the first spot at times during the vote.

When the poll finally closed on Friday morning, however, it was the Noble Japanese Steakhouse that took home the title as "Readers' Choice" for best restaurant to eat at when someone else is buying. Noble Japanese Steakhouse received 22 of 40 votes, including 13 in the last hour.

Brian McAllister, the first of two to nominate Noble, said the food was the deciding factor for him.

"The food is just TOO good!" he said in the comments section during the nomination phase.
