CAFD Helps Southington Home Project Make a Difference

Builder Mark Lovley and CT Appliance & Fireplace Distributors (CAFD) owner, Doug DuPont, believe in giving back to their industry. This summer, FOX CT partnered with Lovely Development and the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Hartford County - in building a home from the ground up.

Mark reached out to his long time appliance supplier, Doug DuPont, and CAFD responded by donating all of the GE stainless steel kitchen appliances, as well as a washer dryer for the laundry room.

The 2,296 square foot, four bedroom, two and one-half bath home was built on a lot in Mark’s Southington subdivision, Trotter’s Crossing, and it sold in just  three hours for the full asking price of $439,900.

The home was built by and with contributions from HBRA members, and Mark Lovely donated the proceeds to the Hartford County HBRA, which in turn provides industry education, advocacy, scholarships and donations to community organizations throughout Hartford County.

The finished home was open to the public for home tours and the proceeds from the home tours will benefit Camp Courant. Camp Courant is the largest free day camp in the nation, serving more than 1,100 Hartford children during the summer season. Children ages 5 through 12, who live in the City of Hartford, participate in a variety of recreational, educational, and cultural programs at the campsite in Farmington.
