CONNECTICUT MORTGAGE ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF NEW PRESIDENT AND THREE NEW BOARD MEMBERS


Farmington, CT January 21, 2014– The Connecticut Mortgage Association is pleased to announce that Melissa Hayes, owner of CT Liberty Mortgage, LLC has been elected as the new President. Ms. Hayes has over 12 years’ experience in the mortgage industry and has previously advocated for consumers and mortgage professionals in Hartford and Washington, D.C. Also elected to the Board are Jeremy Potter, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Norcom Mortgage, Gerald Rothman Jr, Managing Member of Generation Mortgage and Brian Thompson, Sr. VP of Wholesale Lending for Norcom Mortgage.

Melissa Hayes states, “In 2014 we will be facing new challenges that will certainly change the landscape of our business.  I look forward to representing the hardworking mortgage professionals in our state and continuing to improve on the mortgage process for Connecticut homeowners.”    

In a statement, Potter emphasizes the “importance of joining key industry partners and to be a part of an organization named at improving the market for lenders, brokers and consumers in Connecticut, especially with the recent changes in our industry.”   Thompson adds, “As a Connecticut resident in the mortgage industry, I think it’s crucial to serve on this board as it plays such an instrumental role in the practices of home financing for both lender and borrower.  I am honored to serve as a member of the CMA and look forward to contributing to the organization.”

The Connecticut Mortgage Association connects the entire mortgage community in Connecticut and is the state affiliate to the National Association of Mortgage Professionals (NAMB).  They advocate for legislation that supports the mortgage industry and the consumers it serves.
