Beware of Deceptive Sales Tactic Used to Sell Electricity

CAUTION: PURA INVESTIGATES NEW DECEPTIVE SALES TACTIC USED TO SELL ELECTRICITY

CCM has been advised of a new marketing tactic used by an electric supplier wherein the supplier claims not to be selling electric supply but rather offering to reduce delivery charges without impacting your existing supply agreement.  In reality, no supplier can offer reduced Transmission and Distribution (delivery) charges, which are regulated by PURA.

 PURA is investigating this practice.  In the meantime, because simply providing account information can be used to switch your electric supplier in breach of your current electric supply agreement, CCM-member municipalities participating in the CCM Energy Purchasing Program are encouraged to direct all such calls to Andy Merola at CCM (203) 498-3056.
