STEPS Youth Hold Bake Sale to Benefit Relay for Life

The Youth Council and Youth Committee of STEPS (Southington's Town-Wide Efforts to Promote Success) continue to be proactive in seeking out opportunities to personally take part in community service projects. "Especially when it comes to Relay for Life, as Sarah Lamb explains, "so many of us have personal reasons to understand the effect of cancer on families and individuals." Sarah's mother is a cancer survivor.

Today, the STEPS Youth Relay for Life Team set up a table with their banners and large quanities of baked goods that volunteers had baked so that they might sell them at the Western Baseball League during the Little League Games today.  The weather was perfect and by 10:30 the STEPS team had already done quite well and are looking forward to using the funds for Relay for Life.

Shown in the photo is Jean Rose who has, for many years, fielded a fanatastic team called "Jean's Angels" in the annual Relay for Life in Southington which takes place this year beginning on Friday, May 30th and running all night at the Southington High School Athletic Field until 5 pm Saturday, May 31st.

Be sure you keep your eyes open to help anyone of many teams in town who are raising money to help Relay for Life in its Fight Against Cancer.
