In his homecoming concert, “Simply Sinatra”, Steve Lippia was nothing short of a smash hit sensation that brightened a full house audience at the Palace Theater in Waterbury on May 8th.  Backed by the moving sounds of a truly top of the heap Big Band and the many romantic moods of the ‘standards’ of traditional American pop music, Lippia brought home with him from Vegas, a gift-wrapped package of gentle yet classy energy and a uniquely personal panache to the music of great songsters such as Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darren and many more of that 20th century musical era.

Lippia was alive with spirit and the audience was right there with him.  With tunes that have enchanted mega-millions universally, Steve Lippia’s smooth and easy style delivered enticing interpretations of songs such as Summer Wind, I’ve Got You Right Under My Skin, That’s Life, Mack the Knife and The Lady is a Tramp, briskly  awakening many moods, capturing the hearts of the audience. Steve’s Come ‘Fly With Me’ seemed to launch half the audience into lift-off on a rocketship to an unforgettable musical past that is as memorable today as ever.

With a pulse-stimulating sound of mood-driven orchestrations, the artist’s irresistible presence drew the audience irresistibly into another era in time, warmly embracing and welcoming it to the 21st century. Lippia’s Bring in the Clowns absolutely stilled the house into an emotional spell while his New York, New York had the crowd standing , singing and cheering Steve to an electric ovation and finish.
