United Way Brings Back the Festival of Trees and Traditions - Nov. 13th
Kaye Davis was especially happy and smiling when, as executive director of United Way of Southington, she announced Monday that UWS would be doing a return engagement of the Festival of Trees and Traditions of the memorable past. “There’s always excitement and anticipation in revisiting traditions which were enjoyed and are still warmly remembered”, Davis said. It all happens at the Elks Club on Main Street on Wednesday, November 13, 2013.
“It will be a special evening from the moment folks arrive at the ‘Elks’ which will have magically become a Winter Wonderland. We at United Way of Southington thought it would be a wonderful way of welcoming the forthcoming holiday season while at the same time inviting folks to support United Way of Southington as we host a live and silent auction of holiday trees, wreaths, gift baskets, table arrangements, mantle pieces and many other gift items.”, Davis added.
Thanking the many continued supporters of UWS, Davis said, “The festival has been a very popular event in the past. So, we’re excited and thrilled to bring it back.” Local restaurants will be serving their specialties with beer and wine available for purchase.” Ticket sales will enable UWS to continue supporting the community. Noting that the Elks Club’s capacity is 200 people, Davis suggested contacting her promptly at 860-628-4565 or at kaye.davis@southingtonunitedwayofSouthington.org to secure a reservation at the function. “Please keep in mind”, Davis said, “that with United Way of Southington, every dollar raised in Southington stays in Southington”.
