What Does Mother's Day Mean To You?

For me, Mother's Day is a great reminder of who I am, my roots, my heritage and my life; the tender growing up years I remember as a glowing time of joy in everything we did as a family, the times when I was sick and my mother nursed me back to health with loving care, a responsibility she placed before her own needs. I remember the way she took me by the hand to my first day of school and entrusted me into the hands of a teacher to begin my education. I remember the meals we enjoyed together as a family, the frequent visits to my grandparents homes, the play time and sports with my brothers and sister, the birthdays, Christmases, picnics, parties and music and family stories that always filled our home. I remember thinking as a child that I was so lucky that my mother was the most beautiful person in the world. What joyful memories these are! I can't begin to express how I honor my mother and my father, to this day, especially now as a grandfather myself. My greatest aspiration is to pass that feeling, that love, that inspiration for every breath I take, along to my own children and grandchildren.
