Community Play, Taking "Time" and Marketplace

What's what today in Southington and for the week ahead.

So here’s the scoop for today, March 25, 2011, and the weekend ahead.

Rumors –

Southington Community Theatre will host its production of the play “Rumors” tonight at the DePaolo Middle School. The production is a comedy which focuses on a Deputy Mayor who has been shot, his missing wife and an attorney who must work to get the facts straight before four couples come for dinner.

The show will take place at DePaolo Middle School at 7:30 p.m., with additional shows at the same time Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets are $10 in advance, and can be purchased at Just For You Country Gifts, 979 Meriden-Waterbury Road, or the Music Shop, 405 Queen St. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $12.

Take “Time” for A New Experience –


The American Clock and Watch Museum will open for the season Saturday in Bristol, offering local residents a look at historical clocks and watches as well as a little piece of history.

Admission to the museum, located at 100 Maple Street in Southington, is free this Saturday with the museum open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission will be $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for children after that.

Foster Adoptive Mission Open House –

The Foster Adoptive Mission is holding an open house at the Southington Public Library this Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

People interested in learning more about the foster care system or are interested in getting involved are welcome to attend. The event is open to the public, regardless of where you are from.

Potty Training For Your Pet –


Do you have a pet you are struggling to potty train? Thinking of becoming a new pet owner and not sure where to turn for advice? PETCO is hosting a free seminar for local residents on Sunday to help local residents find the solution they need.

The training is open to the public and will be held from 1 to 1:30 p.m. at the PETCO store, 760 Queen St. in Southington.
