So here’s the scoop for today, March 18, 2011, and the weekend ahead. Take a look at what’s coming up – and decide what you want to attend.

Golf Conditioning Program –

Each Friday through April 15, the Southington Care Center is hosting a golf-conditioning program designed to improve strength and flexibility to enhance your golf game. The program includes swing analysis and encourages healthy exercise habits.

Cut-A-Thon to Rebuild Calvary Church –


Couture Hair Salon will play host to a cut-a-thon designed to help raise money for the Calvary Life Church in Cheshire, with haircuts each costing $12. Calvary's building collapsed as a result of the heavy snows this past winter and everything was lost.

The Saturday event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the salon, 1460 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike in Plantsville, and will include a raffle, cookies and more.

Arc of Southington Dinner Dance –


The Arc of Southington will host a dinner dance this Saturday at the Aqua Turf as part of an effort to raise funds for the Arc’s programs. The event includes a pasta dinner, open bar, guest speaker Rev. Will Marotti, DJ Dave Murphy, a silent auction and raffles. 

The dinner dance will be held from 7 p.m. to Midnight. Tickets are $75 per person

PETCO Potty Training Seminar–

Do you have a pet you are struggling to potty train? Thinking of becoming a new pet owner and not sure where to turn for advice? PETCO is hosting a free seminar for local residents on Sunday to help local residents find the solution they need.

The training is open tot he public and will be held from 1 to 1:30 p.m. at the PETCO store, 760 Queen St. in Southington.
