Dinner with the Doc: Weekend Warrior –

Mondays come along and your weekend activities leave you feeling sore and without the energy you need to tackle the week. That’s OK, there are ways around that.

Southington’s Care Center’s “Dinner with the Doc” program tonight will feature Dr. Richard Scarlett. Dinner will be served at 5:00 PM and a presentation on what injuries can be caused from over exertion and how to prevent them from happening.

The program will be held at the center, 45 Meriden Ave. Please R.S.V.P. to Southington Care Center at 860-621-9559.

Speaking of getting in shape… –

Are you someone who wants to exercise more, but traditional running and other activities leave you feeling too sore or injured? There may be another solution.

Mulberry Gardens will begin Community Low Resistance Exercises with Exercise Physiologist, Rob Keith. This course will be beneficial for individuals with arthritis, poor balance, poor postural stability or hard time standing as well as moving around.

For more information or to RSVP please call Rob Keith at (860) 276-1020.

Bullying and Peer Pressure –

As children get older they spend more times with friends but what does that mean for their decision-making?

Bullying and peer pressure are widespread occurrences at many schools, and it is important for parents to be aware of how they impact our children and what we can do to help.

Southington Youth Services will hold a program Thursday for parents that will provide some resources, prevention and intervention approaches.

All programs are only available to Southington residents, and are held at Southington Youth Services, 93 Main Street, and run from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Please RSVP in advance by calling (860) 276-6281.
