Five Things Survival Guide: Interacting on Patch

Learning how to interact with Southington Patch.

We have a story on tonight’s budget meeting already. Schools are on vacation this week, as are many families. So today we are going to mix things up a bit.

Here’s the scoop for what you need to know about how to be interactive on Southington Patch. Let’s call it a “Five Things Patch Survival Guide.”

Sharing An Announcement –

Want to let everyone know who made the honor roll at your school? Recently engaged? Have a birth to share or obituary to publish? All this and more can be done, free of charge, on Southington Patch.

To share your announcement, simply scroll to the bottom of the home page and click on “Announce something to everyone” tab underneath the contribute label. Either that or simply click here in order to enter your announcement.

Posting An Event

So you have something to share, but it’s more of an event than an announcement. That’s OK, Southington Patch has the tools you need as well and events are free to enter.

Under that same contribute label, there is a second tag titled “Put an event on the calendar” which you can click or you can always add your own event by clicking on the event section at the top of the homepage. Of course you can also click here as well and enter your event.

News Tips –

There are two ways to give us a news tip and report what you’d like to see on Southington Patch. On the home page, and after each story, there are multiple links designed to make it easy for you to share the latest news you want us to check out.

We are committed to serving the community’s needs and if there is something you want to see, we want to hear from you. That is why as the local editor of Southington Patch I encourage everyone to reach out to me directly at jason.vallee@patch.com. I want to hear from you!

Business Options –

Are you a business owner in the community who is looking to reach out to your customers? Southington patch has the tools you need to get your name and services out there. Our directory provides not just an opportunity for people to find your business, but you can have control over information by clicking the “claim” button underneath the listing for your business.

Not enough? Still want more exposure? Be sure to take out an advertisement for better placement and to deliver the message you want to our readers. For more information or to purchase an advertisement, contact us at sales@patch.com.

Opinions, Letter to the Editor –

At Southington Patch, we strongly encourage you to express your opinions. You can do so through comments online, post your questions in our Q&A forum, send a shout out right on our homepage or send your letter to the editor to Local Editor Jason Vallee at jason.vallee@patch.com.
