Calvanese Foundation Gala –

Feel like a night on the town? Want to get dressed up and party?

The Calvanese Foundation is hosting its annual Gala Ball and Auction this Saturday night at the Aqua Turf Club, 556 Mulberry St. in Plantsville, with proceeds benefiting the foundation and its efforts to help non-profits throughout the region.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public. Tickets are $180 per couple.

Brighten A Child’s Day –

The Social Justice Ministry of the St. Dominic Church is again collecting Pre assembled Filled Easter Baskets, which will be donated through the Department of Children and Families in New Britain.

This program is part of the Social Justice Ministry’s continuing mission to reach out beyond our parish community and live our faith in service to others. Your donation helps a local social worker meet the needs of abused, neglected and severely impoverished children in our community.

Ideas: baskets can contain activities, books, gift certificates, snacks, etc! Sidewalk chalk, jump ropes, waffle balls...let your imagination run away. We always appreciate the baskets coming ready to give as a gift.

Contact Kathy Ciullo at (860) 628-9172 with any questions or to have your basket picked up.
