Welcome to the world, Jaykwon!
That's right, 7-pound, 1-ounce Jaykwon was born at on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 at 11:11 a.m., to proud mother Kerry Watters of Groton and proud father Kenneth Burke of New London.
Watters arrived at the hospital on Thursday. "As the time got close, they realized what a unique opportunity this was," said hospital spokesman Michael O'Farrell, "and everything worked out for them."
On the hospital's Facebook page, Watters is quoted as saying, "It’s not something you can control, but we wanted it. I gave it everything I had. And it worked, too, because he sure came right out.”
Said Burke, "We’re still in shock. It’s a special thing, and kind of spiritual."
The baby was delivered by Dr. Craig McKnight. The birth was natural, said O'Farrell, and not by Caesarean section.
