Open Discussion on North Center Proposal –

Community leaders will come together this evening for a one-hour discussion on a proposal to relocate the Board of Education and town departments to the North Center School as part of an effort to make sure the move wouldn’t have an adverse affect on local businesses.

The meeting, hosted by School Superintendent Joseph V. Erardi Jr. and Town manager Garry Brumback, includes an open discussion with business owners regarding concerns as well as potential solutions.

The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers at Southington Town Hall, 75 Main St., beginning at 7 p.m.

Board of Finance Workshops Continue –


The Board of Finance will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Finance Department at Town Hall to continue discussions tonight regarding the Board of Education budget in preparation for Wednesday’s meeting when the board will set a recommended budget to forward to the Southington Town Council.

“We need to review several items still within the operating budget and capital improvement requests, but no final decision has been made,” said Board of Finance member John Moise.

The meeting is open to the public.

Unified Sports Program –

Southington’s Unified Sports program recently completed a joint effort with the program in Manchester, offering opportunities for local children to connect and share in the camaraderie of being on a team.

Police Crack Down on Unregistered Cars –


A look at reveals that nearly 20 residents were cited for failure to register motor vehicles.

Although times are tough, police warn that failing to register can lead to additional fines and court fees – plus the added costs of still having to register your car for the road.
