Risky Teenagers Roundtable, Friendship Club and Getting Interactive

So here’s the scoop for today, Feb. 24, 2011.

Addressing Risky Teenage Behaviors –


Southington Town-wide Effort to Promote Success, or S.T.E.P.S, will host a roundtable discussion tonight which focuses teenagers and the risky behaviors in town. The event is part of an effort to promote healthy, positive decisions among Southington teenagers.

The event will be held at the Southington Public Library, 255 Main St., from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and is open to the public. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in the discussion.

North Center School Facility Use Committee Meeting –

The fate of which town departments will join the Board of Education at the North Center School property on North Main Street now rests in the hands of the facility use committee. They will take on the task of determining the best way to move forward tonight during a meeting at Town Hall, 75 Main St.

The meeting is open to the public and will take place in the Council Chambers beginning at 7 p.m.

Friendship Club –


Looking to meet a few good people? Join the Friendship Club and enjoy transportation, activities, meals, exercise and other activities to get to know those in Southington.

Members of the Friendship Club will meet today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mulberry Gardens, 58 Mulberry Street in Plantsville. For more information, call Marie Terzak at (860) 276-1020.
