Sketching With Masters –


A weekly program at the New Britain Museum of American Art, “Sketching with Masters” is a drawing class, which is open to the public. Classes are free with the price of admission.

Heavy Putter Demo Day –


Improve your golf game and get some practice in just in time for the spring season with Golf Quest’s Heavy Putter Demo Day. The program allows experts to show you how to use a heavier putter to take a more accurate shot.

The program will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Golf Quest, 125 Jude Lane in Southington, on Feb. 12 and is free of charge.

Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge –


Skier or snowboarder? Think you got what it takes to beat others on a race down the mountain? Take part in Mount Southington’s annual Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge this Sunday at the Mount Southington Ski Area, 396 Mt. Vernon Road in Southington.

The challenge is a free race for all ages with prizes for the top competitors. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the races at 11 a.m. and an awards ceremony to be held at 3 p.m.

Valentine Teddy Bear Tea –

The ImagineNation Children’s Museum in Bristol is hosting a special tea party this Sunday for kids and their teddy bears. The event includes a snack of finger sandwiches and Valentine cookies.

The event is open to the public but registration is recommended. The cost is $5 for members and $8 for non-members and runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
