Newell Street Closed on May 24

Newell Street will be closed during business hours on May 24 while the Southington Water Department conducts work in the area.

For those looking to travel along Newell Street Thursday, it's time to start looking for an alternate route.

The has announced that they will be closing the road to through traffic between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. in order to conduct water line maintenance in the area.

Maria Nason, a staff member at the department, said the closure is only expected to take place during the one day.
