August is now in full swing, but there's one more light week of meetings before things really pick up. Despite the slow meeting week, however, there is still plenty to do with the Kids Entertainment Series, Music on the Green, Taste of Southington and more.

Kids Entertainment Series
Tuesday, Aug. 7, 6 p.m., at , Maxwell Noble Drive in Plantsville.
All shows are held on Tuesday evenings at the gazebo in the pine grove at Recreation Park, with this week's show including "Blimpey's Circus" with Steve Taylor Puppets and the familiar music of Bruce John. In case of inclement weather, shows will be held indoors at (located within the park). Taste of Southington

Wednesday, Aug. 8, 4:30 p.m., at , 85 N. Main St. in Southington.
Admission is free and restaurants will be charging a minimal fee to sample their offerings. The event is exclusively sponsored by TD Bank. Free entertainment will be provided by Dave Zon who will be singing classic oldies and pop songs. Free museum tours will be available. There will also be free face painting and balloon animals provided by Putin on the Ritz for the children. Participants are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the Museum grounds. Rain Date: Aug. 9.

Music on the Green

Wednesday, Aug. 8, 7 p.m., at the , 75 Main St. in Southington.

Drive-In Movie Night
Saturday, Aug. 11, at the , 966 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike in Plantsville.
"Lady and the Tramp" - Rated G, hosted by STEPS. Gates open at 6 p.m.; movies begin at sunset. Rain date is Sunday. Southington residents pay $10 a carload; non-residents pay $13 a carload.
