Kids Entertainment Series
Tuesday, July 31, 6 p.m., at , Maxwell Noble Drive in Plantsville.
All shows are held on Tuesday evenings at the gazebo in the pine grove at Recreation Park, with this week's show including a "Punch and Judy Show" with Don Wunderlee and the Jim and Sandy Show, a magical experience. In case of inclement weather, shows will be held indoors at South End School (located within the park). Tuesday, July 31, 7 p.m., at the , 75 Main St. in Southington.
Residents of Southington will come together on the Southington Town Green to remember the victims of the Aurora, Colo., shooting. The rally includes several speakers, as well as a candlelight vigil ceremony for the 12 dead and more than 50 others wounded.

Drive-In Movie Night
Saturday, Aug. 4, at the , 966 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike in Plantsville.
"Escape to Witch Mountain" - Rated PG, hosted by Sorelle d'Italia. Gates open at 6 p.m.; movies begin at sunset. Rain date is Sunday. Southington residents pay $10 a carload; non-residents pay $13 a carload. Walk-ins are welcome at $2 per person - please bring lawn chairs. Food vendors will be on site. Movies subject to change.
