SHS VARSITY COMPETITION

There's a number of contests ahead this week as teams begin their individual playoff runs. Be sure to support your favorite teams as they kick-off postseason play this week.

  • Softball, No. 32 Norwich Free Academy at No. 1 Southington High School, 4 p.m., at . (Winner will advance to face the winner of Stamford v.s. South Windsor on Wednesday.)
  • Girls Lacrosse, No. 18 Southington High School at No. 15 Trumball High School. Qualifying Round Game, 5 p.m., at Trumball High School in Trumball. (Winner will travel to No. 2 Newtown on Thursday when the playoff bracket gets under way.) 
  • Boys Volleyball, No. 10 Simsbury High School at No. 7 Southington High School, 6 p.m., in the gymnasium at . (Winner will travel to Staples High School in Westport on Friday.)
  • Girls Tennis, No. 20 Conard High School at No. 13 Southington High School. Qualifying round match, 1 p.m., at Newtown High School in Newtown. (Winner will advance to face Newtown at Newtown High School at 3 p.m.)

  • Boys Tennis, Pairings to be announced at noon. Open invitations will be announced on June 8.
  • Girls Tennis, Open invitations will be announced at noon.
