I was on the Board of Directors for the Midstate Association of Realtors and helped form their nonprofit foundation the Midstate Realtors Community Foundation whose purpose is to help needy children and families in Southington and the surrounding towns through programs such as Christmas Wishes for Kids, backpack donations, and scholarships.

Why did you run for office?

My dad was very active in politics in New Britain and he taught me that you have to give back to your community by volunteering and helping others. He was a well-liked and honest person and I want to follow in his footsteps for Southington.

If elected, what would be your primary areas of focus?
I believe that not every plot of land needs a home or structure on it. Southington should preserve as much land as possible for open space, nature trails, and animal habitats while strengthening our neighborhoods with well-built affordable homes. We need to attract businesses that will strengthen our tax base and fit into our community. We also need to make sure that current zoning laws are being enforced so our neighborhoods continue to be safe and peaceful.

What do you feel is the biggest issue facing Southington today?

Southington is growing tremendously. We need to make sure that growth is steady and responsible. As more businesses are interested in coming to our town, we need to make sure our streets aren’t bogged down with traffic and our neighborhoods remain safe.

What skills do you have that you could bring to the community?

For the past 20 years, I’ve been in the business of helping people and in one way or another preserving our homes. I will use that experience and knowledge, to help grow and protect this great town.
