2014 Wayton Open Tennis Tournament

Greetings Tennis Players, 
Welcome to the 7th year of The Wayton Open Tennis Tournament. Hard to believe the tournament is only four months away. Last year was our biggest year to date with 200 entries and 5 divisions. This year our goal is to have 300 entries and we are now offering 7 divisions. We have also added some extra help to our tournament committee to keep up with on-site demand. Let's make this the biggest and best Wayton Open ever!

Registration:
Registration is now open for the 2014 Wayton Open! Register Now @ www.waytonopen.com. Registration will close on Sunday, July 6 at Midnight. 
Tournament Dates:SAVE THE DATE! This year's tournament will take place July 11-20 @ Southington High School. As the tournament continues to grow we will also use overflow sites in Southington: Memorial Park, Panthorn Park, and Recreation Park.
Divisions Available:
Men's A Singles - NEW  (4.0 & Above)Men's B Singles - NEW  (3.5 & Below)Men's 45+ Singles - NEWMen's Doubles Women's SinglesWomen's DoublesMixed Doubles
Scheduling StatementDue to the size of the tournament all matches must be played in a timely fashion so the tournament stays on track and does not fall behind schedule.Please read carefully:

  • No matches can go later than July 20 (Championship Sunday). In the event of inclement weather on July 20, Championship Matches will be played on Monday, July 21 in the evening.
  • All championship matches must be played at Southington High School
  • If you enter multiple divisions be prepared to play multiple matches in the same day (Never two matches in the same division in single day).
  • You must be available for weekends and some weekday evening play. 
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your match. If you arrive late it will result in a default. 
Tell a Friend: If you refer three people to play in the 2014 Wayton Open you will receive free entry to a division of your choice. Just have the person you are referring write your name in the appropriate space when they register.
Scholarship:This is the 3rd year of The Wayton Open Scholarship and we are happy to announce that amount has increased to $350 for each student. Scholarships go to one boy and one girl from the SHS tennis teams who are pursuing higher education. 
All proceeds benefit The Wayton Open Scholarship Fund. 
Please sign up early, it helps with ordering t-shirts and other tournament materials. Looking forward to seeing everybody on the courts as the weather starts to warm up.
