Family Farms Day at Roberts Orchard

The Boys & Girls Club and Family Center of Bristol will

be hosting Family Farms Day at Roberts Orchards located at 125 Hill Street on
Saturday, October 5th from 11am-4pm. The rain date is Sunday, October 6th.
Roberts Orchards will feature scheduled activities including afternoon

hayrides, pumpkin decorating, face painting, magic, kite flying, youth

performers and much more. Walk around mascots will be at the event including
characters from the Bristol Theater Arts from Seussical the Musical. Build a
Scarecrow Shindig will be taking place from 12-3pm. Families are welcome to
bring clothes or choose from bins of clothes graciously donated by Savers of
Bristol. A variety of activities sponsored by various community groups such as the Bristol Fire Department, Federal Hill Association, Bristol Public Library,
Imagine Nation Museum Torch Club and others. The 12th annual Odor-Eaters Rotten
Sneaker Contest will be held at 2pm. Children ages 5-15 are invited to enter
this zany beauty contest where a team of judges will be looking for the most
worn out and smelliest pair of sneakers they can find. The winner of this
regional contest will receive lots of fame, Odor-Eaters Products®, $200.00, and
the Golden Sneaker Award. The winner must be able to attend the National Contest
at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in New York City on March 25, 2014.
Registrations will be accepted the day of the event by 1:30pm at Roberts

Orchard.


The Roberts Orchard store will be open to purchase pumpkins, as well as

homemade breads, pies, and the famous apple cider donuts. The Imagine Nation
Museum Torch Club and Bristol Exchange Club will be selling food.


Down the road at Minor's Farm, Farmer Paul and Daisy ll will welcome families
to participate in pumpkin picking, inflatables, and many other fun activities.
The Boys and Girls Club and Family Center of Bristol will provide a booth with
delicious food for sale. The Minor's Farm store will be open all weekend.
