MOGULS, MONEY & MALARKEY AT SKI SUNDOWN!!

It’s bump or bust at Ski Sundown’s annual Mogul Competition!  This year’s event, “Moguls Money & Malarkey,” lands on St. Patrick’s Day Weekend, on Saturday, March 15 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm.  Featuring some of the best mogul skiers in the Northeast, it’s as much fun to compete as it is to watch.

The competition, sponsored by Suburban Sports and MogulProShop.com, is held on the Gunbarrel trail, which features the steepest and longest mogul run in Southern New England, plus two jumps.  $3,000 in cash prizes as well as merchandise will be distributed to top performers in the following categories:  Under-18; Male 18+; Female 18+; Consolation.  Registration begins at 9:00am in the lodge, with waivers, helmets and a $25 entry fee required. Participants will also receive a free event t-shirt while supplies last.

“I feel honored to sponsor such a high caliber event.  I believe this is
the best bump run in all of the North East at this time of year, and it
attracts top mogul skiers from New England, New York, New Jersey and
Pennsylvania.  Coming off of the Winter Olympics, everyone knows how exciting it is to watch a mogul competition.  It’s a great spectator sport, and Sundown adds to the fun with live music, barbeque, and local microbrew,” says Suburban Sports owner and event sponsor, Keith Nappi.

The event also celebrates the spring skiing and snowboarding season, characterized by longer, warmer days, sunny skies, soft “hero” snow, kick-back barbeques on the deck, and losing the layers!  With a 50-70 inch base, spring conditions at Sundown are some of the best in years.  Joining the party are Thomas Hooker Brewing Company’s Brewvan, and live music by Charlie Don’t Surf.

Suburban Sports will also hold a tent sale with up to 70% off a full array of skis and boots.  Ski Sundown is also offering a special promotion – buy your 2014/2015 season pass now and ski free for the rest of this season!  These passes are priced at this year’s pre-season rate of $479 for Adults, $429 for Juniors, $159 for Children, and $99 for “Super 70’s.”
