Wheeler's Fourth Annual Evening of Wonder

The fourth annual Wheeler Clinic An Evening of Wonder gala on October 11, 2014 will honor leaders who are committed to building health equity in underserved communities.

The honorees include:

  • Patricia Baker, president and chief executive officer, Connecticut Health Foundation
  • Kurt Barwis, FACHE, president and chief executive officer, Bristol Hospital and Health Care Group, Inc.
  • Christopher Dadlez, FACHE, president and chief executive officer, Saint Francis Care
  • Louise Murphy, MPA, LPC, CEAP, president, Aetna Behavioral Health, Aetna
  • Dick Salmon, M.D., Ph.D., national medical director for performance management and improvement, Cigna.

“These outstanding organizations and individuals demonstrate an unwavering commitment to ensuring access to care, reducing health disparities and improving the overall health of the communities they serve,” said Susan Walkama, LCSW, president and chief executive officer, Wheeler Clinic.

Proceeds from An Evening of Wonder support Wheeler’s continuum of coordinated, integrated primary and behavioral health care services. Connecticut Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman serves as the event’s Honorary Chair, and Fox CT News Anchor Alison Morris serves as the event emcee.  Aetna is the event’s Presenting Sponsor, and Cigna and C&R Marketing Services of Bristol also are top sponsors.  Jake Biscoglio and William D. Gombatz, Wheeler trustees, serve as event co-chairs. 


An Evening of Wonder will be held at the Marriott Hartford Downtown and begins with a reception and silent auction at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a dynamic live auction at 7:30 p.m., and dancing and live entertainment.
