Can You Help This Local Family Adopt a Child in Need from Ethiopia?

This week, Patch brings you local stories featured on the GoFundMe website. Many are facing illness, injuries or other devastating situations; others are looking to raise money for volunteer work and other ventures.

Sometimes, we all need a helping hand. Neighbors, friends and families of those in need are reaching out to the community via the fundraising site GoFundMe. They’re raising funds for various causes including those who have suffered great losses.

Some of the people featured reside in Southington or Berlin; others have a connection to the towns. For more information, visit their GoFundMe page, shown below.

The Danko family of Southington is asking their community's help in defraying costs of their adoption of a boy from Ethiopia. The child they wish to adopt is four and a half years old and is HIV positive. His mother died of AIDS and his father, who is HIV positive, cannot afford to provide for his son. To read more about this family's mission, click here to bring you to their GoFundMe page.
