Sweet Emotion, Sweeter Car

Steven Tyler just bought a $1.1 million car...from Carter Chevrolet?

In case you missed it, Steven Tyler just bought a new car. And I want to clear the air. Contrary to what you may have heard via Internet rumors (that may or may not have been started on my own Facebook page after a few glasses of that delicious 2006 Barolo) – he did NOT buy it from Carter Chevrolet or Mazda of Manchester.

Check this out. His new Hennessey Venom GT Spyder will accelerate to 200mph in 15.9 seconds. That’s eight seconds faster than a Bugatti Veyron. It’s ALMOST as fast as Facebook's stock started to plummet.

The 1244 HP convertible is powered by a 7.0-liter, twin-turbo V8. And it only cost $1.1 million. Some have described it as “the most fun you can have with your clothes on.”  Others have described it as “the best way to die.”

*Pause*  [Being chastised by Carter of Manchester Internet Manager / Resident Mother Nora]

While typing this blog (and controlling my leg from shaking in excitement) – I began expressing my amazement that Tyler’s new car goes from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds. You catch that? 2.5 seconds. Nora, on the other hand, was NOT impressed.  She proceeded to yell at me and educate me on the dangers of speeding. She explained how when she takes her kids out in the Porsche, she refuses to exceed the speed limit. I went to ask her for her opinion on the gorgeous Corvette or Camaro that we sell at Carter Chevrolet, but she was busy racing out the door. Teeheehee.

So in conclusion, I’d like to throw shame upon you, Steven Tyler. How dare you drive down the road singing Eat the Rich while driving a million-dollar car. Shame on you for judging who can be an American Idol while buying a car that exceeds the highest speed limit in the nation by, oh, 120 mph.

But maybe I shouldn’t be shaming him too loudly. Look closely at the car, my friends. Maybe he’s not just Steven Tyler. Could it be? Is that….Batman?
