Remembering 9/11: Candlelight Memorial at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar (Sikh Temple) in Southington

Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar celebrates the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 with a candlelight memorial service on Friday, Sept. 16.

Recently I read Derek Fowler’s very touching comments about 9/11:

"Ten years ago blue skies turned gray across this great country of ours. The most unimaginable event took place: A part of New York, and our country was torn apart. Many innocent lives were taken before their time, and the rest of the country was punished with a broken heart….

We cannot bring back the lives lost, but we can pray for the family and friends. It only takes a minute...Show you still have not forgotten as we are all just one.

Take a minute and pray for all of them. No matter what religion you believe in, God will hear your prayers."

We all share Derek Fowler’s feelings.

At 9/11 Tenth Memorial Service at Southington High School, Dr. Erardi shares the following:

"Our hearts cry out to you…..Our love fills the open wound…Our tears meld with yours…Our Prayers reach out to heal these emotional scars…"

Prayer is a direct communication with God!

To share the same/above heartfelt feelings, the congregation members of Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar (Sikh Faith, Place of Worship), 1610 West St. in Southington, will host a 9/11 Tenth Anniversary Candlelight Memorial on Friday, Sept. 16 at 8:30pm. The public is invited to join.

As E. Richard Fortunato in his article 'Southington Remembers: 10th Anniversary of 9/11' states: “No one in our community of 42,000 will be without an opportunity to participate.”

Please stop by at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar on Friday to join and show that we are all just one and together...
